About TRE and Positive Psychology Coaching
As stand-alone modalities, both TRE (Stress and Tension releasing exercises) and Positive Psychology Coaching are very powerful. As a combined modality it shifts up a notch as both the vital centres in the brain that are used for change, are activated.
TRE activates the limbic, or primitive brain area, where automatic functions emanate such as breathing, digestion and very specifically, the message to release adrenalin and cortisol when stress is experienced. By doing 6 gentle exercises, we activate neurogenic tremors to shake off the unreleased and incomplete stress cycles in the body. As the tremors emanate from the limbic brain, we do not reassociate into the original trauma or stress.
For lasting change while loosening old patterns, we need to create new neural pathways, which is the domain of the neo-cortex in the brain. And that is where Positive Psychology Coaching is so useful. It is not traditional psychotherapy – it is a breakthrough methodology using specific coaching techniques and interventions to create lasting change by rediscovering what is going right in our lives, and building on that.

The facilitators
Manuela Glasbrenner (left) holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Mannheim in Germany (Dipl.-Psych., German equivalent to an M.Sc.). Her work as a coach and facilitator is based on the ideas of Positive Psychology and therefore focusses on strengths and optimal functioning. She is an accredited Appreciative Inquiry facilitator and has trained with the founder of Positive Psychology Coaching,
Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener.
Melanie Silberbauer (right) trained directly with Dr David Berceli, the founder of TRE. In addition to TRE, she holds qualifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, life-coaching, massage therapy, sole-reiki and Touch for Health. After graduating with a BA Communications degree, she spent 20 years as a corporate copywriter and photographer before dedicating herself to helping others to free themselves from limiting beliefs and behaviours.
